About Jennifer
I am an examiner for AQA and a secondary school English teacher. I've been teaching for 9 years now and I have proven exam success in both English language and English literature. I obtain a BA hons degree in Education/ English and Special Needs and have a PGCE in teaching English at Secondary level. I have a wealth of experience in assessing, marking and predicting grades. Teaching and tutoring are my passion, every tutee achieving is my goal.

I apply the 5 principles of learning to my teaching/ tutoring:
Relevance- The topics I tutor are always relevant to the marking scheme to achieve the best grade a learner can achieve. I take bullet points from the mark scheme and elaborate on the points and ways of achieving that area of learning.
Participation- Learners need to participate and be active learners. That way I can assess learning as the tutoring lesson is going along. By asking questions and elicitation.
Repetition- Recalling upon prior learning is paramount when it comes to how individuals learn, recalling information from the long term memory to the short term memory.
Transference- once the information is recalled/ repeated, it is important to me to see how learners interpret the information verbally or written.
Feedback- I find written feedback is very effective, as learners can recall upon the feedback and incorporate corrections in to future learning.
