About Shoko
Hello, my name is Shoko. I am a native Japanese speaker currently based in Melbourne.
I am a friendly, patient, and reliable tutor who is passionate about helping students feel comfortable and confident when learning Japanese. I understand that learning a new language can feel challenging at first, so I always try to create a supportive and relaxed environment where you can learn at your own pace.
I have experience communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds, and I am comfortable explaining Japanese in English when needed. I always prepare my lessons based on each student’s level and goals, and I am committed to making every lesson meaningful and enjoyable.

Hi, I’m Shoko, a native Japanese speaker based in Melbourne. I offer friendly and practical Japanese lessons mainly focused on conversation and real-life communication.
My teaching approach is simple and relaxed. I believe that the best way to learn a language is by actually using it, so my lessons are conversation-based. I will support you in speaking naturally, building confidence, and understanding how Japanese is really used in daily situations.
I don’t use complicated teaching methods or heavy textbooks. Instead, I tailor each lesson to your level and goals. For example, we can practice daily conversation, travel phrases, pronunciation, or simple grammar when needed. I also use English to explain things clearly, so beginners can feel comfortable.
A typical lesson is 30 - 60 minutes, but I can adjust depending on your needs.
