About Nelly
Hi, I'm Nelly, a grade 11 high school student! I have a strong passion for English and literature and I aspire to become a teacher one day. To me, reading and writing are universal skills that every student should proudly hone, and I want to help to do just that! I have a high school English subject award, high school honours, and an elementary school Academic Achievement Award. Along with that, I have unofficially been tutoring my cousins for years.
As a student who persevered and climbed their way to the top, I understand how difficult academic English is. As a child, language arts were not my strong point, and I want to help those who struggled as I did. I want to successfully help students improve in a comfortable way so that they can build these essential life skills!

I tutor those in grades 1-10 who want to improve their literacy and writing abilities. And to me, practice is key! I teach through cooperative-based learning in which I work closely with my student and adapt my teaching to their preferred method of learning. Most often, I work closely with my student to complete a progressive goal in relation to reading and writing by guiding them through sentence structures and reading and writing techniques.
As someone with a strong passion for English and literature who is aiming to become a teacher, it would be a pleasure to help others improve their reading and writing abilities!
