About Tina
I have been tutoring since my Sophomore year of high school. I have prepared students for the SATs (Math I, Math II, and general SAT) and the SHSAT exams. Over the course of 4 years, I have worked with around 40 students individually and in groups. I currently tutor 5 middle school and two college students in various areas of math, up to and including calculus. I am also a president of the math club at my college, which allows me to constantly improve my collaboration skills and the ability to communicate math to others.

I do not believe in strong authority. In my experience, students best learn from their peers. Therefore, my classes are mostly based on communication and understanding, as opposed to strict rules, regulations, and grading systems. I constantly ask the students for feedback and like to hear what they enjoy most and the least. It allows me to fit every single class to fit the right environment for the individual student. I am quite flexible when it comes to the structure of the class. Bottom line is, I aim to make my sessions free from stress. I create spaces where students can really absorb math without feeling overwhelmed.

Details
I am currently only available for remote tutoring unless the student lives in the Bard College area. You can cancel any time until one hour before the session, in which case I charge $10.
