About Isobel
Hi, I'm Isobel, I'm a finalist at Oxford University and an enthusiastic French and English GCSE and A Level tutor! I study French and Italian at university and absolutely love languages and literature. I would love to translate my passion into real academic progress for my students, but I understand that academic progress cannot be made without confidence!
Although I achieved 9s in my GCSE English and French, as well as A*s at A Level in these subjects, language learning hasn't always come easy to me, so I understand a lot of the difficulty in improving. However, after living in France for a year and teaching English in French sixth forms, I have really solidified my skillset as a patient tutor who will never give up in finding ways to make language learning (or revision) fun and enjoyable!

I have been privately tutoring for over 5 years and love the transformative difference 1-1 tutoring can have on students' confidence and approach to learning! I also achieved all A*s in my A Levels (French, English Literature and Politics), most importantly because I enjoyed them, and I'd love to bring some joy to students' exam preparation! In terms of tutoring techniques, I mainly work on developing students' active recall, tailoring my approach to their learning styles as well as their own interests to make as much progress as possible!
I offer 1 hour GCSE lessons for the following subjects:
- French
- English Literature
- English Language
I also offer A Level lessons for French and English Literature as well as Modern Languages Oxbridge application advice, including sessions on preparing for the MLAT test.

Details
For GCSE classes I will charge £20/hr, and with A Level classes I charge £30/hr. If you need Oxbridge or other languages university application/UCAS advice, including MLAT preparation sessions, I charge £30/hr. Thank you!
