About Christine
I believe that all students, no matter their age, are good at Mathematics, and my mission as a teacher is to help every student reach their potential by using techniques and methods that help overcome obstacles in Maths.
With over ten years teaching experience in private education, including five years online, I find it easy to adapt my teaching style to the needs of the student.
My philosophy is that Maths is fun, and over time I have built up a range of online tools, resources and teaching techniques to both challenge, engage, and break down difficulties.
Originally from Kent, I moved abroad with my family at a young age, and have always felt at home in the UK, as well as in other cultures. My most recent teaching post at the International School of Toulouse, with classes of students of different cultural and educational backgrounds, with a wide range of abilities, many of whom not native English speakers, gave me a greater understanding of the many difficulties students can have learning in a varied classroom environment, as well as the skills to bring to one-to-one tuition outside of that environment to promote learning and understanding.
Although originally obtaining my teaching qualification in Secondary Geography, I have taught Mathematics almost exclusively for six years, with experience in GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A-level at all levels, with good results.
My interests include photography and DIY, as well as exploring international cuisine.
