About Iris
I am so grateful for my teachers who have invested time in me over the years to help me to reach a point where I feel confident in my ability to speak to natives in multiple foreign languages, and want to share my love of learning with others now that I have the tools to do so. For me, a huge hurdle in my language learning journey was getting over my fear of making mistakes for fear of judgement, particularly in conversation. I therefore try to make sessions as relaxed as possible where the aim is to communicate successfully and eventually be able to recognise your own mistakes and correct yourself. I like to use visual techniques, often through videos and music, such as looking at lyrics of songs in the target language and in the context of that language's culture. The best way to learn is through exposure!

Primarily teaching GCSE/A-level but open to general language tutoring for children and/or adults. Experience tutoring students whilst in sixth form and mentoring new students whilst at university. Sessions typically 40 minutes but very flexible.
