About Amy
I am 22 years old and a recent graduate from the university of Nottingham in neuroscience. I am extremely passionate about the brain and biology and love teaching others and seeing confidence in my students grow. I can empathise with exam stress and understand that tutors can really help in supporting students through it.

My first lesson would involve discussing what my students main goals and objectives are and which areas in their subject they struggle most with. From this I can plan ahead, whether this be focussed on exam prep, on content revision or specific topic areas.
For example, If I am tutoring for an hour for a level biology , I will start the lesson with a past exam Q, allow the student to answer it , and then go through the answer. This gives a good direction into practical exam prep. I will then spend the next 40 ish minutes going through material and consistently asking the student questions to encourage active recall. For certain areas students struggle more, I will spend more time going over so that the student feels confident by the end. I will often finish the lesson recapping what we learnt and provide exam Q homework to do before the next lesson so that the student continues to practice.
