About Ethan
I am a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh who has recently come home to Newcastle. I covered both A-level Chemistry and Biology and enjoyed the challenge of breaking down the difficulties in both topics. This encouraged me to take this further and try to help other students understand the intricate curriculum.

In tutoring students, lessons are 1 hour and would be based on both the core content of a topic, exam-based questions, and set homework assignments to be marked and worked through together. Here, topics that students may find challenging will be broken down into bite-sized chunks to help them gain an understanding of the complex concepts in A-level or GCSE Chemistry and Biology. Additionally, I take a holistic approach to tutoring, where it is not only the teaching of content and its application to questions, but also how a student maintains their learning through advice on revision methods and the key question of how to revise best. Furthermore, I understand that in tutoring, not all students have the same goals, ranging from securing a pass to achieving an A*.
Therefore, I adapt both the content covered and the questions set to match this. I am familiar with AQA A-level and GCSE Chemistry and Biology, one of the main exam boards in the North East of England, to which students will benefit from exam board-tailored questions aligned with their specification. I offer regular weekly tutoring available online or in-person, although I prefer an in-person approach for maximum benefit! In-person lessons are provided in a professional, supportive and safe learning environment. I have a PVG certificate (Scottish equivalent of DBS) from my time mentoring in Scotland.
