About Calilah
Hi! I’m Calilah, a friendly and enthusiastic Year 12 student with a strong passion for Japanese. I ranked 1st in my year in my Year 12 Japanese Continuers trial exam, giving me a strong understanding of the current HSC course and exam expectations.
I understand that learning Japanese can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming, so I focus on making lessons comfortable, encouraging and easy to understand. I can help students with speaking, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, kanji and exam preparation.
I’m patient, approachable and happy to work at each student’s own pace. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a primary school student, studying Japanese in Years 7–10, or preparing for the HSC, I’d love to help you become more confident in Japanese!

I aim to make Japanese lessons fun, relaxed and easy to understand. As a Year 12 HSC Japanese Continuers student who ranked 1st in my year in my Japanese trial exam, I understand the current HSC course and the areas students can find challenging.
I adapt my lessons to each student's level and learning style, whether they are just starting Japanese or preparing for high school and HSC assessments. I can help with speaking, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, kanji and exam preparation, while focusing on building confidence.
Lessons can be around 45–60 minutes, with activities and explanations suited to the student's goals. I am happy to tutor primary and high school students, including beginners and students studying Japanese at school.
