2050 Rapid Rating looking to coach any beginner / intermediate players the game of chess

I’ve known Will for a long enough amount of time to understand his love for learning new things - and with this, his love for making other people experience the pleasure of improving at something.

It’s rare to find someone that genuinely cares about sharing their ideas or ability with others in a very natural, non judgemental way without coming across as condescending or ignorant.

It’s a massively overlooked quality which Will holds as one of his greatest strengths.

I’d recommend him to anyone willing to learn whilst being in great company :)

Will’s a great teacher who helped me get from 800 rating to 1300 within a month, always patient, but gives you the drive to achieve and guides you through the lesson in an easily digestible way, so that you always feel like you are progressing.

Having grown up my whole life not being interested in Chess, a summer working at a children’s camp in America and losing constantly led to a strong desire to improve my game.

As a complete beginner it was quite demoralising losing regularly but through Wills guidance and support I have been able to massively increase my chess IQ and ELO rating.

From teaching me basic fundamentals through to advanced openings, midgames and endgames I have not only improved my game massively but my enjoyment of the game has also increased.

I know Will as he has been teaching me chess for the last year. Will is an excellent teacher. He expertly balances his passion for perfect play with patient calmness meaning (despite having made some pretty awful moves) I have never been made to feel stupid. One of the most impressive things about Will as a teacher is his ability to inspire me to play more chess and better chess. Every lesson I leave with a new appreciation of the game, understanding a previously impossible concept with a fresh exciting clarity. Thank you Will!

Will is a really smart guy who clearly knows what he’s doing on a chess board. He has helped me learn the basics which I found really hard to grasp but he was very calm and explained things super well and now I feel so much more confident. Would definitely recommend him if you’re wanting to learn chess in a very chilled environment:)
