About Rachel
Tutoring, for me, is more than helping students improve grades — it’s about helping people realize what they’re capable of.
I know firsthand that learning can sometimes feel frustrating, overwhelming, or discouraging, especially when students feel like they’re expected to “just get it.” That’s why I became a tutor: to provide the kind of support, patience, and guidance that helps students build both understanding and confidence.
As a tutor, I bring a calm, approachable, and adaptable style to every session. I genuinely enjoy working with students, understanding how they think, and helping them overcome challenges in a way that feels achievable rather than intimidating. Seeing a student go from uncertain to confident — when something finally clicks — is the most rewarding part of teaching for me.
I also believe education should not just be about performance in exams. Strong teaching can develop independence, resilience, communication skills, and critical thinking — qualities that matter far beyond the classroom.
My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace. I want students to leave sessions not only with better results, but with greater confidence in themselves and their ability to learn.
At the heart of my tutoring is a simple belief: every student can improve when they are taught with patience, clarity, and genuine encouragement.

I don’t believe great tutoring is about memorising answers — it’s about building confidence, understanding, and independence.
Every student learns differently. Some need concepts broken down visually, some learn through repetition and practice, and others simply need someone patient enough to explain things in a way that finally clicks. My role is to adapt to the student, not force the student into a one-size-fits-all method.
In my sessions, I focus on:
Understanding before memorisation
I help students truly understand why something works, so they can apply knowledge confidently in exams and real situations.
Building confidence step by step
Many students already have the ability — they just need guidance, structure, and encouragement. I create a supportive environment where mistakes are part of learning, not something to fear.
Clear and practical explanations
I simplify difficult concepts into manageable steps without talking down to students. The goal is always clarity, not confusion.
Personalised learning
No two students are the same. I tailor lessons to individual strengths, weaknesses, goals, and learning styles.
Long-term improvement
I don’t just aim for short-term marks. I teach study habits, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking that students can carry into future subjects and challenges.
Students who work with me can expect patience, consistency, honest feedback, and someone genuinely invested in their progress. My success as a tutor comes from seeing students become more capable, more independent, and more confident in themselves.
