Music is a language in which we can express or articulate ideas, thoughts and feelings. There are a multitude of techniques and tools that can be equipped in order to expand the vocabulary that facilitate exploration of expression. The ability to listen is an especially important foundation in learning Music and is a skill that is in constant growth from the very beginning. I believe teaching music requires the teacher to be versatile and adapt to the students needs or level of understanding and create a pathway through content/exercises that best suits the student. In congruence with this philosophy, the varied aspects such as rhythm, tone/timbre, lyricism, and harmony, to name only a few, are intertwined and arrive more intuitively once the establishment of listening to distinguish and familiarise intervals, tones, and timbre is founded.
