About Emily
Well, my name is Emily and I am currently in my final year at Imperial College London studying Biochemistry. I really enjoy the sciences and maths in general so being able to tutor and teach it on the side of my studies would be amazing. If any students are thinking about university, especially in STEM, I would love to discuss that on the side as I do interact with a lot of other courses as well as my own so I would be happy to answer any questions about a certain course or applying to university or, generally, what university is like :)

- I like to teach how I know that I learnt best, which involves a lot of practise questions. I like to start with a general introduction to the topic I will be teaching then I like to jump into the students watching me do it myself whilst I explain every step and ask questions along the way. Then, I like to watch the students thought process as they do a similar question infront of me so I can see how well they understand it and then some questions on their own.
- I haven't done much private tutoring online, however, I often ran classes in my secondar school to teach the younger years and I have tutored many of my family members
- The length of the lessons vary to how long is desired but I often find an hour is long enough, especially if the lesson is at the end of the day after the student has been to school too.
- I am happy to teach a variety of ages but I find students at secondary school best take to my sort of tutoring. I am also happy to teach a variety of subjects but I most enjoyed Maths and Chemistry so they are subjects I know I can deliver well. However, I also don't mind tutoring Biology.
- If a student would like to learn A level maths, I am happy to tutor mechanics and statistics as well as pure but that is something I would like to be made aware of
