About Jessica
I am currently in my 3rd year, studying education (specifically intermediate phase) at the University of Pretoria. My two main subjects at University are English (literature and language structure) and psychology. My goal (after completing my 4 year education degree) is to do my honors in learning support, also known as remedial therapy.
I am very passionate about the potential I have as an educator to positively influence my students' minds.
I am passionate about passing knowledge to others. However, I am very interested in learning more about learning barriers and difficulties. Struggles such as, Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD and autism are where my main interests lie.

My lessons are adapted to the individual learner and their specific learning needs. I recognize that every learner learns differently so, therefore, I adapt my lessons accordingly.
I strive to make my lesson engaging and creative by using a variety of resources, such as Kahoot! quizzes, video games, YouTube videos, songs and informative worksheet activities.
My lessons instill confidence in my learners' and motivates them to keep working hard and learn from their mistakes.
I am passionate about encouraging student to persevere and become experts in the English language by finding it fun and interesting, and I would say my lessons reflect this vision.
I am not perfect but I take my learner's feedback/ opinions seriously and I put effort into being a continuous learner.
