About James
I'm currently in my second year of Theoretical Physics at university, achieving a First Class in my first 2 years. Qualifications-wise, I have A*AAAA (A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, EPQ) and 9 Grade 9s at GCSE. These won me an award from my academy trust (OAT) for having the highest GCSEs across the trust of ~50 schools. I've tutored students Years 9-13 throughout my time at sixth form, as well as taught French in primary schools. I received offers from the Universities of Cambridge, Nottingham, Manchester, York and UCL, having undergone a combined 5 interviews, and 2 entrance exams.

The teaching style can be personalised and suited to the needs of each student. However, a standard lesson would be 1 hour, including an introduction to the topic, knowledge review, then the main body of the session is exam-style question based. Alternatively, the lesson could be used for interview preparation for those applying to Oxbridge, as I underwent two Cambridge Natural Sciences interviews, and received an offer from them. I'm a big believer that understanding the wants of the examiners, how each style of question is answered, and what past questions look like is just as important as the content itself. I've worked in my previous school tutoring GCSE and A-Level maths, physics, chemistry and biology students over a number of years. I personally achieved A*AAAA in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and the EPQ in 2023.
