About James
Hi, I'm James and I'm currently in my 4th (and final) year of university at St. Andrews. I've had lots of experience working with young people and I especially enjoy teaching. Maths is a subject that is quite intimidating for most people, including me at times, so I really appreciate getting to help others in something that I've worked hard to understand.

My teaching technique involves showing my student how to solve a problem, working through a problem together and giving some hints, then watching you solve a problem individually.
For the first lesson, I will get to know you, see what topics need focusing on then we would work through some problems. To ensure knowledge and methods are remembered, I'd give you some homework questions that you would attempt for next time. I'd go through the problems, especially more challenging ones so the previous lesson's material is hopefully understood.
I am definitely aware that maths can be tricky sometimes, so I'll always be supportive and provide feedback that is helpful to you.
I achieved A (band 1) in Advanced Higher Maths, Higher Maths, Higher Applications of Maths. I have previously mentored Primary School students, and work with young people with additional support needs during school holidays.
Lessons will be 1hr 30mins, flexible to adjustment. My lessons are for S1 - S6, any high school student at any level. Lessons can take place in person (near St. Andrews or Dundee) or online (through Google Meet).
