About Tomador
Hello future students! I'm Tomador, a 4th year medical student with a first-class honours in biomedical science, but more importantly, I'm an educator who deeply understands the challenges of learning. My academic journey has been defined by breaking through traditional educational barriers and discovering innovative ways to help students succeed. Having navigated a rigid education system with a unique learning style, I've transformed my personal challenges into a powerful teaching approach. From the age of 16, I've been teaching and developing strategies that help students not just learn, but truly understand and excel. My experience spans from school classrooms to specialised interview coaching for STEM degrees, where I've achieved a remarkable 90% success rate in helping students secure places in top universities. My passion extends beyond academic achievement. With a special interest in education and neurodevelopmental conditions, I'm committed to creating learning experiences that adapt to individual needs. For students sitting their SATs, GCSEs and A level core subjects (predominantly maths and sciences). A dedicated tutor, who has undertaken extensive research on evidence-based study techniques, filtering out the best strategies for linear progression in academics. Our sessions incorporate a full evaluation of each student's academic background, identifying knowledge gaps, and building on those to allow for linear progression and attainment of personal goals. Our method breaks complex concepts into manageable chunks, encourages active problem-solving, and provides immediate, constructive feedback with independent tasks for consolidation. Typical sessions would involve concept review, targeted instruction, practice, and reflection, designed to support learners across various academic subjects and skill levels. The key goal is to promote deep understanding, critical thinking, and self-directed learning, rather than simple memorisation.
