About Urslaan
Hi, I’m Urslaan, a final-year MSci Chemistry student at University College London (UCL). I have a strong academic background in both Chemistry, Physics and Maths, and I genuinely enjoy helping students understand subjects that they may initially find challenging.
I am offering GCSE, A-level and undergraduate level tutoring for chemistry as well as GCSE level for maths and Physics.
I have around a year of tutoring experience, primarily supporting GCSE Physics students online. My students have achieved grades 7–9, and I have developed a teaching style that focuses on making difficult concepts clear, practical and easy to remember.
As a student myself, I understand that everyone learns differently. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I adapt my explanations to each student rather than expecting everyone to learn in the same way.
Whether you are looking to improve your grades, prepare for upcoming exams, or simply become more confident with a difficult topic, I will work with you to identify what you need help with and build a clear plan to make progress.

I place particular emphasis on the exact exam specification and the skills needed to perform well in exams. I regularly use exam-style questions and past-paper questions during lessons, helping students understand what an examiner is looking for and how to structure their answers effectively. I also adapt the pace and difficulty of lessons depending on the student's confidence and progress.
A typical lesson is around 1 hour, although I can adapt the length depending on the student's age, level and individual needs. Lessons generally combine explanation, guided practice and exam questions, with time at the end to review what has been covered and identify areas to work on next.
