About Maia
I am a biology student in their final year of undergrad studies going on to pursue graduate studies in biotechnology. I completed a year of pre-health studies at Mohawk college before attending Trent university for honors biology. I never had much interest or motivation in high school for my education, particularly science as well. I want to be the change for kids who were like me, show them how well they can do with a little help and encouragement, and maybe even foster some new passions for science.
Being in my fourth year, I have taken a variety of extensive biology courses including topics such as ecology, evolution, entomology, biodiversity, cell biology, microbiology, animal physiology, anatomy, molecular biology, and more. I have focused more on topics related to health sciences but can help with everything.

I begin by assessing what my student's needs are; where they have been succeeded, area's where they have been struggling, focus on potential issues of why they are struggling, learning how they learn best, and then adapting my teaching to cater their particular needs. I am very flexible and like to make things enjoyable for the student. Whatever I can do to make learning easier and more fun.
