About Jamie
Hello! I am a fifth year university student at Dalhousie university. I am doing a double major with honours in chemistry and math. Throughout my degree I have spent most semesters TA-ing at least one course and tutoring at least one university student. From this I have found that I have a passion for teaching and helping students learn. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a student solve a problem that they have been struggling with all by themselves, and it was possible because of the work that we did together.

I think usually when students need a tutor it is because the way things were taught was not clear to them and because of this I often choose to try to describe things differently so help get the click that they need.
Typically I would begin by finding out what particular areas are "struggle areas" and go over any specific questions from assignments or tests that they found challenging. From there I would be able to determine the best approach to make the session worth while for both me and the student.
I like to be very available and casual with the students I work with. I let them know that they can send me photos of assignments and their attempts at solving problems so I can text back helpful comments or hints that can help them get where they need to be. These lessons are for anyone who wants help! from small amounts of help to large amounts of help, I am here
