About Katie
My name is Katie and I am a professionally licensed teacher in Colorado, specializing in English/Language Arts and special education, but have experience and expertise in all subjects and grade levels (K-12). I have a teaching style that adapts to what students need and believe that building a relationship with my students and their family is the strongest foundation to success. I can offer support and tutoring services in any academic area, test prep (including GED) and can also help support students in developing lifelong skills; i.e. organization, goal-setting, communication, self-advocacy, and social interaction. Teaching and helping students succeed is my passion and is exactly what I was put on this earth to do. I received my bachelor's from Metropolitan State University in English and secondary education, and am working on my final classes for my master's in special education from the University of Colorado Denver. I have experience teaching all subjects at the elementary level, middle school language arts and reading intervention and currently work as a special education AND math teacher at the high school level. In-person works best for student support and success (I can come to you or we can meet at a public library) but I am also willing to provide tutoring remotely if the need arises.
