About Yamika
With over 3 years of experience and an MPhil in Mathematics, I’ve dedicated my journey to helping students see math in a new light. I take a holistic approach that goes beyond formulas and theorems—focusing on reducing anxiety and building real confidence. I’ve worked with learners of all ages, including those who’ve struggled or felt overwhelmed by math in the past. I believe every student can succeed in math with the right support. My sessions are personalized, paced to each learner’s needs, and built around encouraging a growth mindset. I don’t rush the process—instead, I create space for understanding, questions, and self-discovery. Through positive reinforcement and a calm, welcoming environment, students begin to replace fear with curiosity. I use simple explanations, relatable examples, and creative methods that make math less intimidating and more engaging. I also check in regularly to make sure the student feels supported every step of the way. Many of my students have gone from avoiding math to actively enjoying it. My teaching approach in Maths is nurturing, fun, and deeply personalized. I believe every student learns in their own unique way, so I adapt my methods to fit each individual. Whether it's algebra, geometry, or calculus, I create a safe space for students to explore and ask questions without fear.
I love using logic puzzles, game theory, and recreational math to make lessons exciting and interactive. By connecting math to real-life situations, students see its value beyond the classroom. We might explore how probability affects daily decisions or how patterns appear in nature, games, or art.
Playful exploration is at the heart of my sessions. I guide students to think creatively and celebrate their curiosity. For those who enjoy games, we even use them as learning tools to understand strategy and logic.
I actively support parents too, sharing progress and ways to help learning continue at home. Together, we build a strong learning team. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but truly enjoy the process of learning maths. With time and the right approach, they gain confidence and start to see themselves as problem solvers.
