I focus on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and explore new ideas. My teaching method revolves around breaking down complex concepts into manageable parts and using real-world examples to make them relatable. I encourage active participation, critical thinking, and open discussions to ensure a deep understanding of the material.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Introduction (5-10 minutes): We start with a brief overview of the day’s topic, connecting it to what we've previously covered or the student’s current coursework.
Core Instruction (20-30 minutes): I explain the key concepts, using examples and analogies tailored to the student’s interests and learning style. I incorporate multimedia resources like videos, articles, and interactive exercises when relevant.
Practice (20-30 minutes): The student applies what they've learned through exercises, essay writing, or problem-solving activities. I provide immediate feedback and work through any challenges together.
Review and Q&A (10-15 minutes): We recap the lesson, addressing any lingering questions and discussing how the concepts apply to broader contexts or upcoming assignments.
What Sets Me Apart:
My academic success in English Composition, Modern World Literature, Psychology, and Philosophy, combined with my extensive experience in writing and literacy tutoring, equips me to offer specialized and insightful guidance. I’m not just focused on improving grades—I aim to develop the student’s overall communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and confidence in their academic pursuits. My personalized approach means that every lesson is tailored to the student's unique learning style and goals.
Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are ideal for high school and undergraduate students who need support in English, Literature, Psychology, and Philosophy courses. I also work with students looking to improve their writing skills, whether for academic essays, creative writing, or standardized tests.
