About Joshua
Tracking progress occurs through a specific study plan maintained week to week. This structure ensures that every student sees how their skills evolve over time.
We focus on endgame technique, blunder checking, and proper recording and notation during our interactions. Competitive students often benefit from the rigorous game analysis we perform together. Beginners find that mastering tactical patterns early helps them gain confidence on the board.
I adjust the pace based on the feedback provided during our sessions. Maintaining a disciplined competitive mindset is vital for success at any tournament level.
The workload remains balanced so that players do not burn out. You will find that finding the right move becomes a rewarding mental challenge. Solving complex puzzles makes the work quite satisfying.

Scholastic players and competitive adults make up the core of my current client base. 10 years of coaching has taught me that results come from clarity. I hold an Australian Chess Federation Coaching Certification and have competed at a master level for 12 years.
My history includes winning multiple state titles while navigating intense tournament environments. These experiences allow me to mentor others through the same high pressure scenarios I once faced. I have guided hundreds of students to refine their PATTERN RECOGNITION and tactical accuracy.
My approach remains analytical and patient across all skill levels. I enjoy working with people who want to see consistent improvement in their game.
