About Ella

I'm Ella, a 4th year Chemical Engineering student at Lancaster University. Alongside my studies, I love to teach and tutor.

I got an A in Chemistry, a B in Maths and a B in French at A-Level, and I lead engineering revision sessions at university so I know what it takes to simplify hard material and make it click.

I focus heavily on exam technique as well as understanding, because that's what actually gets results. Knowing the concept isn't enough, you need to know how to apply it under exam conditions.

My approach is patient, tailored to you, and focused on building both real understanding and strong exam skills. I will also give guidance & materials for studying effectively in your own time, not just in our 1-1s.

If you're looking to reach your full academic potential, book a taster and let's get started!

About the lesson

In our free taster, we'll chat through your goals, what you're finding tricky, and how you currently study outside the classroom.

I teach using presentations to break down concepts, then get you to teach them back to me. Active learning like this is proven to help things stick (it's the same reason teachers remember so much of what they teach!).

Every lesson also finishes with at least 20 minutes of exam-style questions, since strong exam technique is just as important as understanding the content itself.

She’s a great tutor that helps students get A and A* in their A-Levels and 8s and 9s in their GCSE. Would definitely give her a go since she’ll help both struggling students and students that are getting on well but looking to excel ahead of the curriculum. Definitely recommend, by far the best tutor to choose!
