About Vivek
An alumni of National School of Drama, Vivek
Kumar is an actor, instructor and a director. He
has trained himself for many years in Red-nose
Clowning, Chhau, Kudiyattam and Alexander
Technique.
He has been a recipient of Inlaks India Foundation award 2010. A winner of Short & Sweet Theatre
Festival (2012) under Best Play & Best Director Category
Apart from a decade long journey in theatre
he has also acted in couple of films and web
series, including Bhoomi, 2017 & 376 D, 2020.
He is also associated with Whistling Woods
international and Institute of Creative
Excellence (ICE) as a freelance acting coach.

As an acting instructor my process and objective is to help each individual to realise their optimum performing capability and lead them through a process to help them develop their own process as an actor.
The process gives specific importance on developing the fearless self as a performer resulting ease and freedom in every action (vocal, physical or emotional). I intend to work in two segments and the format entirely depends on the hours, days and students.
1. Development: Here development stands for instrumental preparation of each performer – Body and Voice which specially aims to strengthen their breath, further helping each individuals to understand its mechanism and relation with every action and emotion. The session also includes elements of Red Nose Clowning training to help each individual find the playful and spontaneous self as a performer.
2. Application: This segment aims at sharing the process of how to apply the training - during preparation, as well as in the final execution of the given scene. This includes- dealing with the text, finding the subtext and inner life of the given character and how to project the plan with seeming effortlessness.
3. It is very serious work; however, freedom and joy remain the most important element of the entire session.
