About Alexandra
I am a creative, motivated and kind teacher, with a passion to teach and inspire. I believe teaching is not just in what the learner absorbs, but having the confidence to apply it. Building confidence is a key part of my practice. When I'm not teaching, I love going to coffee shops, painting and drawing, playing my instruments or watching classic films.
My hours are very flexible, I am available on daytime/evenings and weekends.
I have a First Class degree in Actor Musicianship awarded by Rose Bruford College, previous students of the college include; Gary Oldman, Ray Fearon and Stephen Graham.
Here we were taught the following skills to a high level;
-Singing (Solo, Choral, Acting through song)
-Acting (Meisner, Clown, Absurdism, Neutral Mask, Animal studies)
-Musicianship (Guitar, Flute, Tin Whistle)
-Movement (Historical dance, Chorus)
Upon graduating, I booked a role as an Actor-Musician in LASTheatre's production of 'The Littlest Yak'. The show involves Acting, Puppetry, Musicianship, Musical Theatre, Movement and Accent work. My classes will work alongside my show schedule.
Before drama school, I worked as a Vocal Coach for an Amateur Musical Theatre company named City Theatre which was based in Liverpool. Because of this experience, I went on to do One:One classes for secondary school students in my local area. Prior to my work here, I had taught Traditional Irish Folk singing, as this is my mother's heritage and was my starting point in the Arts. As a child up until teenhood, I entered Irish Folk singing competitions, formally named 'Fleadh Cheoil'. Here I got through to the international championships on a number of occasions.
As well as touring the UK with 'The Littlest Yak', we have also visited schools. Alongside the show, we facilitated thematic workshops for children from ages 4-10, teaching them the importance of individuality. We visited state and SEND specialist schools.

My approach to lessons is methodical, and student-focused but most of all I lead with a genuine enthusiasm for the arts.
I lead with equal emphasis on both technical skill and encouragement of personal expression. It is important to me that my students enjoy themselves and also feel safe to be who they are. That's when I believe the most significant learning can be done.

Helped me change the strings on my new guitar, I didn’t have a clue!
Working on a great Wolf Alice song with Alex atm, just two girls!
Lovely teacher, really great person to talk to
I was SO nervous starting but it’s honestly such a chill environment. We end up chatting about music loads too (especially if you’re into artists like CMAT), which makes it feel really natural.
My son was pretty shy before starting, but now he’s got loads more confidence. He even made us sit down and watch a whole musical the other night, which says a lot! Great communication too.
Really enjoy the lessons. It’s a good balance of technique and just having fun with it. The acting side has helped me connect to songs way more. Alex is always fun!
My daughter loves her lessons and literally sings around the house all the time now You can really see her confidence growing. It’s been so nice watching her come out of her shell.
I started lessons as a complete beginner and was quite nervous, but I was instantly put at ease. The sessions are tailored to my level, and I’ve learned so much about both vocal technique and performance. We are both big fans of The Beatles also so we have been singing lots of their tunes together!!
Alex teaches to an excellent standard. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds in ability and confidence since attending her sessions. Thanks for everything Alex.
A fantastic teacher who really understands how to bring out the best in children. My child was quite shy at first, but now sings and performs with confidence. The combination of singing and acting has really helped her come out of her shell. 5/5!!!!
My daughter has absolutely blossomed since starting singing lessons with Alexandra. Not only has her voice improved, but her confidence has grown so much too. The lessons are always fun and engaging, and she even looks forward to practicing at home now. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!
Alexandra is a brilliant acting teacher. She has been teaching my son acting for the past 8 months and he is loving her lessons, she makes the lessons very fun for him and they get on so well together. He is preparing for his grade 1 with her at the moment!
