About Darsh
As a university student, a lot of my day is spent in academic surroundings focusing on study. Sometimes it is hard to stay motivated in the black and white of textbooks which is why I aim to teach the students in an effective manner which is not only extremely beneficial but also fun.
My previous experience in teaching GCSE Maths and Science has been great, my students improve their understanding and also their confidence in the subject.
An example being a girl in year 11 who was working at a C grade when she started her tutoring with me, after 7 months she sat her exams and got an A in Maths and a B in Science.
Being at university allows me to not only practise these subjects on a daily basis, but it also allows me to be a part of multiple study groups. I get to see where people have difficultly learning and I am able to apply different teaching styles to explain concepts to them. This also works in reverse as I get to learn from them and as a result constantly improve my teaching style.
Studying engineering has allowed me to appreciate Maths and Science in a way I had not thought of before. I see how having a sound understanding of these subjects is so important for a developing student. It is because of this that I try my absolute best to distribute this knowledge in a manner that is beneficial and also specifically catered towards each student.

My approach to teaching is methodical and efficient. Through my time in education, I have got to know which methods work best for which topics and which do not so I can gear my lessons towards each student and their specific learning style.
My lessons follow a logical and effective routine. Before the lesson I will prepare notes on the topic to be studied. This handout will be given to the student to annotate and keep.
The first half of the lesson will consists of me teaching the content of the notes to the student and answering any questions they may have.
The second half of the lesson will consist of the student answering practise exam questions based on the topics covered. This not only allows the student to apply the theory but it quickly reveals any gaps in understanding which can be filled in the lesson.
Finally, the student will receive a worksheet of more past exam questions to complete as homework for the next session.
