About Shahir
I am excited to become a part of your educational journey and ensure you get the best quality tutoring you deserve. My name is Shahir, an enthusiast in Mathematics and Sciences who has decided to commit his whole life to these subjects, being a 2nd Year studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Birmingham. I want to help you find the thrill and satisfaction which comes with solving equations, or finally understanding that topic you spent weeks trying to get your head around. With 2 years under my belt in tutoring students both in home and online environments, I have the experience and the know-how to personalise my teaching approach and ensure from the first to the last lesson, tutor sessions will be less of a drag and more of an escape to the repetitive learning experience we have in our classrooms. I was the age of a GCSE/A-Level student not many years ago and have grown to understand the best way to teach young people is to grasp their attention and teach in a simplistic approach, while still ensuring everything is taught to understand even the most difficult problems in a topic. I have honed my skills in teaching Mathematics and Sciences to students aged 14-18, from GCSE to A-Level. With previous experience on online tutoring site, MyTutor, and in-person tutoring during my A-Level studies, I understand the importance of personalised instruction and fostering a positive learning environment where students can say anything or ask anything. My main principles include a strong emphasis on practice exam-style questions and mastering topics, as well as utilising visual aid, including images and diagrams, and the odd analogy, if a topic is difficult to grasp at first. And lastly, provide regular constructive feedback to ensure progress.
