About James
I am a fourth-year Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Leeds. I am passionate about Maths and Physics because I enjoy solving problems and understanding how things work, and tutoring gives me the chance to share that passion and help others build confidence in these subjects. I aim to make complex ideas accessible by breaking them down and guiding students through them step by step. Anyone can succeed in Maths and Physics with the right support and mindset. Outside of academics, I enjoy running, reading, cycling and playing badminton and football. I also ran a marathon last year, reaching a great personal goal.

I use a student-centred approach, based around active learning through problem solving over memorisation. I regularly assess progress through practice problems and quizzes to ensure students are progressing confidently. Lessons are typically an hour long, enough time to explain new content, practise skills, assess progress and review any questions. I am a former A* student in A-level and GCSE Maths and Physics, and study Aerospace Engineering at university. With two years of tutoring experience, I am confident in teaching these subjects up to A-level. My students always see a significant improvement in understanding and academic performance following my lessons. I work with secondary school and sixth-form students—typically those studying for their GCSEs or A-levels. Whether you're struggling to keep up or aiming for top grades, I tailor lessons to meet your goals and learning style.
