About Kayla
Hi there! I’m Kayla, an ambitious medical student at University of Manchester. As a former head student of academics and through my time as a tutor, I have always been motivated to tackle struggles students have within their learning. Everyone has strengths and passions, and I firmly believe that children simply need to be given the opportunity to discover this, and one-on-one tutoring is a powerful avenue. My rich experience in tutoring and leadership has allowed me to hone skills of communication, empathy, sensitivity, responsibility and organisation, all of which I would bring to the table as a tutor.

I truly believe everyone has the potential to grow and reach their academic goals with the right guidance and mindset. In my 2 years of experience tutoring students, from underprivileged children in primary school to IB students, online and in-person, I have found that no matter your background, everyone responds to some form of learning positively. Therefore, my aim is to cater our sessions to you. I strive to teach how to think, not memorise.
I specialise in:
- GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Add Maths
(All exam boards covered, particularly AQA and Pearson Edexcel)
- UCAT & Medical School Prep
- IB Biology HL, Chemistry HL
A strong academic background serves as evidence of my strengths as a student and tutor: Achieving 3 IB 7s (A*s) (HL Biology, HL Chemistry, SL Economics) and 3 IB 6s (As) (HL Maths AA, SL Chinese B, SL English Literature). Additionally securing all A*s and 9s in GCSEs and a 3090 Band 1 UCAT score earning me an interview invitation for Medicine at the University of Cambridge. Furthermore, I have a passion for music alongside my studies, with an ARSM diploma in piano.
In our lessons, I will provide regular feedback and resources to aid you in your learning including study strategies and past papers.
