About Lauren
Hi! I’m a dedicated science tutor passionate about helping middle and high school students succeed in biology and other sciences. With years of experience guiding students from ages 5 to 18 through everything from basic addition to cell structures and genetics, I know how to make even the most complex topics feel approachable and engaging. I’ve worked with students at all levels, from elementary school basics to high school AP classes. I am patient and supportive, creating a stress-free, judgment-free space where students can ask anything is my most important goal. My students don’t just learn and improve their grades—they grow in confidence and often start enjoying science more than they ever expected.

TECHNIQUES;
My teaching approach focuses on making science interactive and easy to understand. I use techniques that through visuals, hands-on activities, discussions, or problem-solving exercises, this caters to all students' strengths and gives them an opportunity to strengthen in areas they struggle.
Key techniques I use include: understanding the connection between subjects this makes memorization more manageable and engages students, as well as incremental challenges this builds students' confidence and solidifies concepts.
LESSON PLAN
Each session usually follows the rough structure of: quick review, concept introduction, activity, problems, and check-in. This allows me to remind students of what we did and answer any questions that came up, give a clear explanation of a new idea and solidify that idea.
WHO
Middle School Students: Building strong foundational skills in life science, earth science, and basic chemistry/physics.
High School Students: Supporting coursework in biology, honors biology, anatomy, AP Biology, environmental science, and general sciences.
Students preparing for standardized exams and students needing extra support for science fairs, lab reports, or research projects.
