About Rochan
I have a BSc in Applied Mathematics and a BSc(Hons) in Mathematical Statistics, both obtained from The University of Pretoria.
I have a passion for learning and understanding. Mathematics and statistics are all around us and we use it in our everyday lives. Shopping for groceries, playing sport, browsing the internet. Maths and Stats have played a huge role in the world we have today, and understanding even the smallest bit of makes you part of something great.
I really want to help students eliminate any fear or ill feelings they may have towards Maths or Stats and see that anyone can do it. I, myself, struggled a lot in school, until a teacher took the time to explain it to me in a way that I understood. Patience and kindness created a safe and successful learning environment for me, and I wish to do the same for others.

My aim is to explain concepts in a simple and easy to understand manner and then build on the level of complexity. Thus allowing students to feel confident in their knowledge and abilities of the subject.
I am fluent in both Afrikaans and English, Afrikaans being my home language.
A typical lesson with me involves explanations and demonstrations of concepts followed and working through examples together with my students. I make sure that at the end of the lesson the student is comfortable with the work covered and may give a few homework questions for sufficient practice.
I am open to teaching all levels However, most of my students thus far have been Grade 6 or above. I can easily adapt my teaching style to fit the student's need, whether they learn better visually, practically or theoretically.
