About Tom
Hello! My name is Tom, and I’m a tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for languages and politics. I graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Edinburgh in Arabic and Spanish, where I was awarded Distinctions in both Spoken Arabic and Spoken Spanish, and subsequently studied MSc Modern Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Oxford.

Over the past two years, I’ve tutored Arabic at levels ranging from GCSE to undergraduate, helping students build confidence, improve fluency, and develop a deeper understanding of the specifics of language, including reading, writing and grammar, and politics and culture of the Arabic-speaking world. I offer assistance in subject-specific university applications. I take pride in tailoring my lessons to each student’s needs, combining academic rigour with an engaging and supportive approach to learning. I know how challenging Arabic can be to study; I've been there myself! I am proud to help my students in getting over this initial overwhelming feeling and build strength and confidence across all aspects of the language.
