My teaching method is experimental. I am covering 10% theory and 90% practical. Basically, I am trying to help students to develop logic in any system. I am providing experimental kits for programming followed by a list of small projects in the field and materials for reference.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My interest in my chosen field began during my school years when I was captivated by how theoretical concepts could solve real-world problems. I started tutoring informally by helping classmates who struggled with specific topics. Seeing their progress and confidence grow made me realize how rewarding teaching could be. This experience sparked my passion for private tutoring, especially in maths, electronics, and coding. Over time, I've taught over 500 students and achieved a 90% improvement in their results, which has been incredibly fulfilling.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I specialize in teaching maths, electronics, and coding. I particularly enjoy topics that involve problem-solving and critical thinking, such as algebra, circuit design, and programming logic. These areas allow me to engage students with practical examples and hands-on learning. On the other hand, topics that rely heavily on rote memorization, like certain theoretical aspects of electronics, are less exciting for me. However, I always strive to make them engaging by connecting them to real-world applications.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, my grandfather and my high school maths teacher were my biggest inspirations. My grandfather instilled in me the value of sharing knowledge, while my maths teacher had a unique ability to simplify complex concepts and make learning enjoyable. Their patience and dedication inspired me to adopt a similar approach in my tutoring.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to adapt to each student's learning style. Encouraging curiosity, breaking down complex ideas into manageable parts, and creating a positive, supportive environment are also essential. I believe my ability to connect with students and tailor my teaching methods to their needs makes me an effective tutor.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

In high school, I struggled with Humanities in Year 10. Despite the challenges, I practiced consistently and scored an 84 in the final exam. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance and hard work. Similarly, I once spent days trying to understand a tricky maths concept, and when it finally clicked, I helped my classmates grasp it too. That moment deepened my love for teaching and sharing knowledge.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

One challenge I faced early on was balancing theoretical content with practical applications. It was easy to get lost in details and lose sight of the bigger picture. Over time, I learned to prioritize understanding and connecting concepts, which I now emphasize when teaching students. Currently, I'm learning advanced data analytics, which is both challenging and fun, and it keeps me updated with the latest trends.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I'm passionate about teaching and helping students unlock their potential. Beyond teaching, I enjoy learning new skills, like advanced data analytics, which keeps me intellectually stimulated. Sharing my enthusiasm for learning and fostering curiosity in students is something I deeply value.
  • What makes you the best tutor (besides answering these interview questions)?

I'm committed to understanding each student's unique needs and tailoring my approach to help them succeed. My ability to explain complex ideas in a relatable way, combined with my passion for teaching, makes me an effective tutor. I focus not just on academic improvement but also on building confidence and encouraging lifelong learning. I adapt my teaching methods, sometimes focusing on practical applications and other times on theory, to suit each student's learning style.
