I was thrilled to see the chemical reaction when he combined advanced Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science. For example, he successfully developed a program to read the Hamiltonian and overlapping matrices of the non orthogonal basis set (both real space and inverse space Hamiltonians can be processed), and then solve the generalized eigenvalue problem to find the energy band.
