About Jez
My Experience
I have, B.Ed Hons from Leicester University and eventually after teaching conventionally at two difficult inner-city schools I was then given the opportunity to become Writer/Lecturer at Middlesex University, following this I was invited to become Honorary Fellow in Literature by Leicester University.
Writing and directing Experience
During the past 25 years Jez has been Commissioned for Professional Theatre over 15 times, as well as writing episodes for some of television’s most popular continuing drama series or the odd Radio series and worked extensively on the stand-up Comedian circuit. I have been a longstanding member of the BBC’s scriptwriting department while my Theatre writing has enabled me to work with some of the best directors in Britain today.

My approach to the teaching of English is to ensure it is both creative and fun.
I focus on individual skills and competencies in order to teach material students actually need to know to meet their goals and objectives. While conventional methods do provide a solid foundation for effective language teaching, it’s important to understand that these techniques don’t always address learner’s needs.
I use a combination of a task-based approach focusing on the skills and competencies students need, combined with a project-based approach which builds on the task-based approach using specialized activities. Before beginning any bespoke planning, I always ask myself “Why is this learner wanting to study learning English?”
This design will produce anything from an oral presentation to a large-scale production such as a play or actual publication.
