About Claudia
I am a student attending Arizona State University majoring in Electrical Engineering. As a university student, I am younger so my methods are current, not outdated. In high school, I taught Summer School Algebra 2, that required getting an F in the class to attend. At the end, students had all A's and 1 B+ of an 89%. Prior to tutoring, I typically did well in my math classes but other classmates did not, and the teachers didn't want to help more, so I'd always help out my classmates as well. Although I did well in the classes, I had to study way longer than necessary to understand the concept because no one could explain it the way it needed to be. As your tutor, I empathize and utilize my effective communication skills. I know how it feels, and I can help! My student is my #1 priority!

My method: breaking problems into steps that can be followed every time. Lesson plan: Go over the basic concept, do examples with specific steps that will work every time, and once pattern is established, will talk about how that can connect to future concepts, so that the student is enabled to apply it on their own without assistance. As a tutor, if a student is not understanding a concept, I am able to verbalize the concept in many different ways, and figure out exactly what is throwing them off, so those connections come together. Communicating differently is the key to understanding. I have done this with over 50 students who went from F's to A's, and I want to be able to help more! Lessons are for students who are needing help in this area, including, but not limited to, high school and college students.
