About Lance
Hi there, my name is Lance I’m an East Coast based Freelance Artist. I recently completed my level 5 Art, Craft and Design qualification and am aiming to get a Bachelor’s degree in Art. I decided to start tutoring as I loved helping my professors teach fellow students topics that I already had a background with! I also used to teach young children art to help them develop fine motor skills and keep their creativity alive!

As an art tutor, my teaching style is to nurture creativity and self-expression while providing a strong foundation in technical skills. I believe that art is a personal journey, and I tailor my lessons to meet the unique interests and needs of each student. My first lesson will begin with a friendly chat to understand your artistic goals, whether you want to explore painting, drawing, sculpture, or digital art. I encourage experimentation, a place to give you the tools to discover your individual style through a variety of techniques and mediums.
In my sessions, I incorporate hands-on activities that blend the technical skills with fun, easy to understand tasks. I provide clear demonstrations of fundamental principles, such as colour theory, composition, and perspective, while also emphasising the importance of observation and critical thinking. While that might sound intimidating it helps create an environment where mistakes are seen as valuable learning opportunities, promoting resilience and growth. Feedback is constructive and focused on encouraging you to push beyond your boundaries and develop your artistic voice. Ultimately, my aim is to inspire confidence, guiding you to not just to create art, but to appreciate and enjoy the process of making it.
