About Alan

BA/MA in Art History, Doctorate in Humanities, Aesthetic Studies w/ 20 years in-class teaching with 350+ students a semester. Was grader-instructor for Correspondence Studies Intro. Fine Arts for 10 yrs and wrote course study guide. I Love teaching these subjects!

About the lesson

Memorizing without understanding meaning and historical context isn't very useful. Learning the latter makes it easier to remember names/terms for the former. I strive to 'keep it real' when talking about how works operated within society, religious beliefs and aesthetics.
