About Iestyn
I'm a 30 year old PhD student at Aberystwyth University, studying the history of television-novel adaptations through the lens of scrpitwriting.
I have tecahing expereince being Online Tutor in Creative Writing at Falmouth University, teaching on the Writing for Screen Media (Games, Film and TV) module, and I've tauht at Aberystwyth on various modules, including Writing Continuing TV Drama and Media, Politics and Power.
I'm also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and I was nominated for 'Best Postgraduate Teacher of the Year' at the Aberystwyth Student Union Celebrates Staff and Students Awards. I will help you with your work in a relaxed, lighthearted uplifting, positive and passionate way.

I take a relaxed and informal approach to my lessons, where I put your goals at the centre. A typical lesson length is 1 hour, and my lessons are appropriate for A Level or undergraduate student.
I'm currently an Online Tutor in Creative Writing at Falmouth University, teaching on the Writing for Screen Media (Games, Film and TV) module. I'm also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and I was nominated for 'Best Postgraduate Teacher of the Year' at the 2021 AberSU Celebrates Staff and Students Awards.
I have also worked at Aberystywth University as a Part-Time Teacher, where I taught, assisted, marked and provided feedback on theoretical and practical media modules, and scriptwriting modules within the department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies at 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year level. Modules I have worked on include: Writing Continuing TV Drama, Writing for Film and Television, Scriptwriting 1, Scriptwriting 2, Studying Media, Studying Communication, Media, Politics and Power and Making Short Films 1.
I have also also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at undergraduate level, and I have been an Assistant Tutor for Aberystwyth University Summer School’s ‘Film Practical’ module, specialising in scriptwriting; specifically, the development of scriptwriting storytelling structure techniques, aimed at 16-18 year olds. I have also been a Tutor for Aberystwyth University' Options Explorer initiative (Easter residential programme) for high school students: ‘Introduction to Media Studies’, specialising in contemporary media convergence and scriptwriting.
