About Lauren
Hi, I'm Lauren, I'm a first year university student studying. At the start of this school year, I was in an honour program to study neuroscience, but quickly decided to switch majors to astrophysics as I ended up LOVING my physics class. Throughout high school I struggled with test anxiety, and eventually found ways to study which helped ease my test anxiety. In finding the most effective way to study, I tried many different methods such as making rhymes for definitions and abbreviations, doing mock tests, and teaching the material to others. In teaching the materials to others, I was told several times that how I explained the topics helped classmates, and I figure I can help current students as well through tutoring them. While I learn through making lists and teaching the material,I understand that not everyone will learn that way, so, I hope to be able to apply my ability to help others gain an understanding of concepts by finding and using the study method which works best for them!

A typical lesson plan is to go over any homework and materials learned in class that students may be having troubles with. Will also write a list on how to solve problems so the student has the order of what to do to solve homework problems on their own (I find this helps me a lot). We will also find what method of studying and problem solving works best for the student, and will also aim to do mock tests (give a list of problems for the student to complete in a quiet work space with little distractions to helo stimulate a test environment).
