About Jamie
I am a current university student at the university of Bristol studying Ancient History. I am 21 years old and have always had a great passion for History, both ancient and modern. As a result of this I have had to learn how to fluently engage with material and convey ideas through writing as well as teaching others which I believe is valuable in developing effective communication and also consolidating any information that one has learnt. I believe that getting tutoring can help one to see the joys in studying through greater understanding and a more personal style of teaching and has spurred me on to help others in their academic journey.

My approach to learning is that one should not be spoon fed, nor pushed past their limits which can feel overwhelming, but instead be prompted and spurred on to learn by questions, demonstrations and explanations. Remembering information is key when it comes to exams so having someone to test and push you as well as get beside you in your efforts to learn is vital. Given that the subjects I offer to teach are rather source based I help in teaching how to thoroughly engage with a source, how to best analyse and use it when writing and generate ideas from a text. I am flexible in catering to each students needs and put in the time to look into each curriculum that a student studies in order to best support them.
