About Daniel
I am a graduate and former employee of the University of New Mexico. During my time working in academia, have received teaching awards, and been nominated for many more. Of course, these things are to be expected of most with a strong teaching background and a Master's degree in their subject of interest.
On a more personal note, I been the go-to mathematics tutor among my friends and colleagues for as long as I can remember. I have over ten years of private tutoring experience, and two years of experience (spread across five semesters) teaching at the college level. To my knowledge, all of my students have left pleased with the benefits they have reaped for the amount of work they put in to studying with me.

I focus on student-oriented lessons which are personalized to you!When you're with me, the focus is on you and what you need. Your background doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is your willingness to work.
I can tutor any college (undergraduate) level mathematics course, as well as upper level high school mathematics courses. You can find more on my experience below.
A first session with me begins with me getting to know you and your needs. I want to know why you are studying mathematics, and what your goals are. From there, we assess what style of explanations work best for you, so that I can teach you in a way that suits your learning style.
From there, typical sessions with me start by us going over any coursework or self-study problems that you may have questions about. We cover topics that you may find confusing in detail, and I help you understand the fundamental principles so that you can learn you to succeed in your studies on your own. While I am happy to have long-term students, one of my main goals is to help you become self-sufficient as a student of mathematics, should you wish it.
I have taught Calculus 1 and 2 courses, tutored for Calculus 3 courses, and taught undergraduate/graduate (cross-listed) Advanced Calculus courses. I also have a strong background in upper level mathematics courses, having a Master's degree in the subject. So I am more than happy to help with Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and so forth. For upper level mathematics courses, I can provide feedback for most topics, but my specialties are in discrete mathematics, Fourier analysis, and Number Theory. I also have worked as a special education paraprofessional in the past, which gives me familiarity with the modern high school curriculum.
