About Jared
I am a rising grad student, going for my Master's in Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology from Columbia University. At Carleton College, I was a double major in Environmental Science and Mathematics. Some of my fondest memories from my hard work as an undergraduate involve spending late nights at the Math Skills Center with my classmates figuring out tough problem sets. While I wasn't always the first one to figure out a problem, I was proud of how as soon as I got it, I was great at explaining it to other people and allowing the whole group to understand the logic behind a proof or a solution. When I'm not in school I like to hike, play the bass, read, swim and play ultimate frisbee.

I can help with anything from basic arithmetic to calculus and beyond. Math classes I took in high school and college include Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, BC Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Mathematical Structures, Introduction to Statistics, Applied Regression Analysis, Ordinary Differential Equations, Chaotic Dynamics, Differential Geometry, Combinatorial Theory, and Number Theory. I got a 5 on the AP BC Calc exam and an 800 on the Math section of the SATs and I can help you do the same. My teaching style involves asking you questions that get you to the conclusion yourself, patience, and lots of energy and examples.
