About Marc
I have previously served as a high school physics tutor, and I was also previously a teaching assistant in introductory physics and astronomy courses at the university level. I currently hold a PhD in astronomy, having also received a master's degree in astronomy and a bachelor's degree in astronomy and physics. I also am a research scientist in space physics, specializing in physics modeling of plasmas in space, where I also mentor a number of students in research.

I have previous experience as a high school physics tutor, and I have both led labs and lectured at the college level in physics and astronomy. One critical aspect of being a teaching assistant at the university level is helping students who are not grasping the materials. Through office hours helping students, I learned that learning is all about how things are framed. It is important to develop the teaching style around the students strengths and weaknesses to help them break through barriers and understand what was seemingly impossible before. Whether it is through real world examples to help illustrate the problem or through a more direct mathematical approach, I believe every student can learn the concepts in physics and astronomy, as long as they have the right person teaching them. I can be that person.
