About Rachel
I am an education student and my dream is to teach grades 7-12, I attend classes every week that show me how to improve myself and my teaching skills so I can be an amazing teacher. I’ve completed my undergrad and have a lot of knowledge on the subjects I wish to teach but I also know how to give proper lessons and engage in professional tutoring. I won’t just be lecturing at you until you are so bored you fall asleep, I know activities and I continue to learn new ways to make learning interesting and apply it to topics that are important to you.

I believe that all students want to learn, grow and are capable of both but require educators who care about them and their outcomes for them to care about a subject. I will tutor with the curriculum in mind and bring in real world examples and problems which can help students grasp why what they’re learning is important and how it can help them in life.
A typical lesson plan for me starts with the learning goals (what should a student learn and take away from my lesson?), and then from there I co-create success criteria with my students (what does it look like when you’ve successfully learned the concept?), and then I will find topics, tools, and resources we can use as a vehicle to get there!
My lessons are for students in middle school and highschool though I could extend into lower grades if the topic is right for both me and the student.
