About Elise
I started tutoring high schoolers while I was a high schooler myself. I fell in love with helping people and have been finding ways to share my knowledge and love of mathematics ever since. In college, I was a teaching assistant and tutor for physics at my university and continued tutoring mathematics and SAT/ACT prep for about 10 high school students per year. I also worked for a non-profit for four years tutoring math and science for middle school girls interested in STEM. In addition, I have also worked on and off as a private tutor for 5 students. I work well with all ages and can effectively adapt to a variety of different learning styles and skill sets.

High schoolers I have tutored have gone on to become students at MIT, Stanford, Harvard and a variety of high status universities. My sessions focus on keeping learning fun and low stress while giving you the skills and confidence to tackle problems on your own. I take each students’ goals and strengths into consideration to create a learning plan tailored to each individual. I continuously assess my students and adapt their learning plans accordingly, with the goal of minimizing how much they need tutoring. I want the best for my students and do everything in my power to get them to a place of confidence to effectively tackle problems on their own.
