About Joel
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in French Language and have spent the last 7 years teaching students from beginner to advanced levels. My experience ranges from tutoring young learners and guiding travellers to coaching adults in professional communication. My lessons are student-focused, interactive, and built to inspire real-world language use. I have spent time studying and travelling in French-speaking countries, allowing me to bring cultural insight and real-world language application into each session. My French lessons begin with the essential building blocks: clear pronunciation, article use, gender agreement, and sentence construction. These elements help students form a strong grammatical foundation. We also incorporate interactive vocabulary exercises and everyday phrases to begin speaking naturally from day one, even for absolute beginners. As students grow more confident, we introduce reading comprehension and listening activities using authentic French media such as songs, articles, and short videos. This approach strengthens language intuition and introduces idiomatic expressions and regional accents. Lessons are customised to support schoolwork, travel, exams, or general fluency goals. For intermediate to advanced learners, our lessons focus on refined speaking, fluency, and writing skills. We explore opinion-based discussions, French culture, and current events, while polishing grammar and verb tenses in context.
